If tan x = -sq rt3/3 and cos x = -sq rt3/2, the measure of <x is?
Use a unit circle and special triangles. At 5pi/6 on a unit circle, cosx= -sqrt3/2 and sinx=1/2. Since tan=sin/cos, if you plug in the values and rationalize it comes out to be -sqrt3/3.
