bring 3 to the other side so now ur eqn will look like sqrt(5r-9)=sqrt(r+4)+1. now square both sides. when u do this u'll eventually get 2r-7=sqrt(r+4).you must square them both again to get rid of the square root. once u do this n simplify everthing u should get 4r^2-29r+45=0. use the quadratic formulae to find r.
