Was the World War 1 avoidable?

All wars are avoidable. But if one person, group, or nation decides to conquer another nation, then the victim needs to decide whether to surrender or fight.

What do you think? Could World War I have been avoidable if the European powers had used diplomacy rather than weapons?

Here is an excellent site on the causes of WW1. After you read it, let us know what you think and we will be happy to proof-read or give you further suggestions.http://www.historyonthenet.com/WW1/causes.htm

okay thanks

You're welcome! I'm glad I could provide you with a useful resource. The link I shared should give you a comprehensive overview of the causes of World War I. It's important to understand the various factors that contributed to the outbreak of the war in order to determine if it could have been avoidable through diplomacy.

Once you've read the information on the website, you should have a better understanding of the complex web of alliances, imperial rivalries, nationalism, and other underlying causes of the war. This knowledge will help you form your own opinion on whether or not the war could have been avoided through diplomatic means.
