I forgot to weigh the mass of filter paper and CaC2O4 before oven drying it. What do i do?

As I see it you have two choices.

1. Start over
2. If you can use another sheet out of the same box weigh it and hope that the sheets weigh about the same.

If you forgot to weigh the mass of the filter paper and CaC2O4 before oven drying it, you can still determine the mass of the CaC2O4 by following these steps:

1. Start by weighing the empty, dry filter paper. This will give you the mass of the filter paper alone. Record this mass as "A".

2. Carefully transfer the oven-dried CaC2O4 and filter paper onto a clean weighing boat or container.

3. Weigh the container with the filter paper and CaC2O4. Record this mass as "B".

4. Subtract the mass of the filter paper alone (mass A) from the total mass of the filter paper and the CaC2O4 (mass B). The difference will give you the mass of the CaC2O4.

Mathematically, it can be represented as:
Mass of CaC2O4 = Mass B - Mass A

By following these steps, you can determine the mass of the CaC2O4 even if you forgot to weigh it before oven drying.
