Hola Sra.! Do these look ok?

Escriba un párrafo (por lo menos 5 oraciones) para contestar cada una de las preguntas siguientes.

1. Identifique dos temas principales de “The Day of the Dead” por Octavio Paz.

Thank you for your time.

1. La fiesta se considera exceso

hint: always proofread first for agreement of adjective with the noun it modifies! See anything wrong?
2. Se abrazan, celebrar y bromear
next verify the verbs, because of the comma after se abrazan, the next 2 verbs must also b e conjugated to agree with "ellos"
3. estaba triste su hijo era un ladrón.
Here you have 2 complete sentences and need to link them with clause relater "que" = triste que su
4. mal vs malo = this is the difference between the adverb "badly" and the adjective "bad"

I'll flag this and come back later to see if you have additional questions.

Sra

Hello! I am glad you shared your paragraphs with me. Now, let's analyze each one and identify the main themes and differences.

1. To identify the two main themes of "The Day of the Dead" by Octavio Paz, you need to look at the content of the essay. Read through the paragraphs and highlight the ideas that are consistently mentioned or emphasized. In this case, the two main themes are the culture of the festival and the perception of death in Mexican society. These themes are evident as the author discusses how the festival is considered an indulgence and an escape from the hardships of life. Additionally, the author mentions how Mexicans embrace, celebrate, and joke about death, which sets them apart from the rest of the world.

2. Comparing the relationship between the mother and son in "La siesta del martes" and the relationship between the father and Ignacio in "No oyes ladrar los perros" requires analyzing the dynamics between these characters in each story. Start by reading both stories and noting down the interactions, dialogue, and emotions expressed between the characters. In "La siesta del martes," the mother still loves her son despite his criminal activities. She is a caring and devoted mother who is saddened by her son's actions. She even desires to visit her son's grave, despite societal judgment. On the other hand, in "No oyes ladrar los perros," the father despises his son. He believes his son is in the wrong and wants nothing to do with him. However, he helps Ignacio because he loves Ignacio's mother. This stark difference reflects the contrasting relationships and emotions portrayed in both stories.

Overall, analyzing the content, interactions, and emotions expressed in each paragraph allows you to identify the main themes and differences within the given texts. I hope this helps!
