All vertical and horizontal cross sections of any one cube are all the same size and shape. What about vertical and horizontal cross sections of a pyramid? Are they all the same size? Are they all the same shape? Discuss why or why not.

the horizontal sections are the same shape as the base of the pyramid, but of different sizes.

What do you think of the vertical sections? As with the cube, I assume the vertical sections are parallel to a side of the base.

Cutting horizontally means that you'll get a smaller top half of the pyramid but whatever the bottom part of the pyramid was, that's what the bottom part will be, if the bottom were a square, then you would get a smaller version of the pyramid before you cut it and you would get a flat, yet, solid square, cutting vertically means two smaller triangular shapes from the pyramid.

for the question

Answer I got
If you cut the pyramid in half vertically will it look the same? The two half would look that same.
If you cut the pyramid in half horizontally will it look that same? No the two half would not look the same because the top half would just be a smaller pyramid, and the bottom half would look like a parallelogram or a trapezoid.
They would not be the same size or shape.
