John has 4 cups filled with fruit juice.he said that he has a gallon of fruit juice.Is his statement reasonable? explain why or why not.

  1. A gallon is about 16 cups if I remember correctly. So it is reasonable for him to say that.

    He can have 4 cups with him, and 12 more in the refrigerator in the next room. Therefore, he possibly has 16 cups of juice, which would be a gallon. I would ask him to prove he has 12 more cups if it were really that important to me. Few people lie about how much fruit juice they have, so I would just take him at face value. Few people hide secrets like that.
