Did you know that Indian mathematicians made crucial advances that paved the way for the existence of computers today? Two of these remarkable contributions include the concept of zero and the decimal numeral system. Invented by Indian mathematicians in ancient times, the concept of zero revolutionized mathematics by filling the void between positive and negative numbers, allowing for more complex calculations. Furthermore, Indian mathematicians introduced the decimal numeral system, which employed the use of ten digits and the position of the digits to denote the value. This system, widely used today, made arithmetic operations much simpler, laid the foundation for algorithms, and facilitated the development of early computing devices.
