None of the above! Muslims? Semitic peoples have ALWAYS been in what is now Israel. They didn't move there from somewhere else. The majority was gentile (non-Jewish) for a long time after the Jewish diaspora.

Holocaust

Israel’s Founding
By the twentieth century, millions of Jewish people were living in Europe. In 1933, a powerful military leader named Adolf Hitler rose to power in Germany. Hitler became dictator and led Germany and the rest of the war into World War II. During the war millions of Jewish people died in extermination camps as a result of Hitler’s racist policies. The death of these Jews is called the Holocaust.

Although Germany lost World War II, many Jews refused to stay in Eastern Europe after the war. Millions of Jews had been killed, and after centuries of persecution, known as anti-Semitism, they wanted to find a new home, a place of their own where they could build a secure nation.
