Hello again, today is my final day of the semester and I started late. So I have tons of work to quickly finish and this math test I am taking is 48 questions. Just a brief description why you might see my name a lot.

1. Which is a solution of the equation y=4x+3?
A.(5,17)
B.(17,5)
C.(4,19)
D.(4,16)

When I try to solve is I get (0,3) which is not an answer. So I do not know what to do. Thank you.

Never mind, I think I got it. Would the answer be (4,19)?

None of those answers is correct.

B would be right if the problem were

y = 4x - 3

Oh ok, interesting. Thank you very much. I was quite confused on this.

(4, 19)

y = 4x +3
19 = 4(4) + 3
19 = 16 + 3
19 = 19
C

To find the solution to the equation y = 4x + 3, you can plug in the given coordinates (x, y) into the equation and check if it satisfies the equation. Let's go through the options:

A. (5, 17):
Plugging in x = 5 and y = 17 into the equation, we get:
17 = 4 * 5 + 3
17 = 20 + 3
17 = 23
This is not true, so (5, 17) is not a solution to the equation.

B. (17, 5):
Plugging in x = 17 and y = 5 into the equation, we get:
5 = 4 * 17 + 3
5 = 68 + 3
5 = 71
This is not true, so (17, 5) is not a solution to the equation.

C. (4, 19):
Plugging in x = 4 and y = 19 into the equation, we get:
19 = 4 * 4 + 3
19 = 16 + 3
19 = 19
This is true, so (4, 19) is a solution to the equation.

D. (4, 16):
Plugging in x = 4 and y = 16 into the equation, we get:
16 = 4 * 4 + 3
16 = 16 + 3
16 = 19
This is not true, so (4, 16) is not a solution to the equation.

So the only solution to the equation y = 4x + 3 is option C, (4, 19).
