I need to write an interpretation and meaning on the song "embers" by max richter(search it on youtube). Since I also need to choreograph a dance to this song for my dance class, I have decided to rename the song(which is my dance routine's name) as "Swallow". I do not know why I called it "swallow", but somehow it inherently feels right, so I want to know your interpretation of the meaning of the song mentioned above, and possibly connect it to the word swallow(maybe not as in eating) indirectly and metaphorically.

Thanks in advance!

You posted this last night and didn't get a reply, right? Do you know why?

yes, I do know now. Though, I have an interpretation now that I have thought about it for longer!

Very good. =)

To interpret the song "Embers" by Max Richter and connect it metaphorically to the word "swallow" for your dance routine, it would be helpful to first listen to the song and study its musical elements and structure. Here is how you can approach this process:

1. Listen to the song: Go to YouTube and search for "embers by max richter" to find the song. Listen to it attentively, paying attention to the melody, rhythm, instrumentation, and any emotions or images it evokes in you. Take notes or make a mental record of your initial impressions.

2. Analyze the lyrics (if applicable): Determine if the song contains any lyrics or if it is purely instrumental. If there are lyrics, read them carefully and try to understand their meaning and how they relate to the music. If there are no lyrics, focus on the emotional atmosphere created by the music.

3. Research the artist's intent: Read about Max Richter and his creative process to understand any intended meaning or inspiration behind the song. Look for interviews, articles, or commentary that may provide insights into his musical intentions.

4. Connect the song to the word "swallow": Based on your initial impressions of the music and any information you gather about the artist's intent, think of ways the song and the word "swallow" can be connected metaphorically. Consider the emotions, themes, or images the song evokes and how they relate to the concept of "swallow" in an abstract or symbolic sense. For example, "swallow" can be associated with the act of consuming or taking something in deeply, or it can represent a feeling of being overwhelmed or silenced.

5. Write your interpretation: Drawing upon your analysis of the song and the metaphorical connection you established with the word "swallow," create a written interpretation of the song. Describe the emotions, themes, or imagery you believe the music conveys, and explore how the concept of "swallow" adds depth or meaning to your understanding of the song. Be sure to explain your reasoning and provide specific examples from the music or related experiences.

Remember that interpretation is subjective, and your analysis may differ from others. Trust your instincts and personal connection to the music when crafting your interpretation and choreographing your dance routine. Good luck with your dance class!
