Pls.., what is the difference btw. FIRST Name, MIDDLE Name and LAST Name?

The last name is usually the last name of our father. Occasionally parents will use the mother's surname rather than the fathers.

Example:
Mr. Woolley's son is named David Woolley.

The first and middle names are those given the child at birth.

Wayne Ransom Woolley's son is David James Woolley. Wayne and David are first names. Ransom and James are middle names.

I wasn't given a middle name because my parents figured that I could adopt my family name as my middle name after I married and took the name of my husband.
