Can anyone help me with this question:

I have to show how I would synthesize the molecules: hexanol, bromo-2-pentene, and ethoxypropane by using the starting matierials:
-benzene
-bromocyclopropane
-butanoic acid
-chlorine gas
-cyclohexane
-ethanol
-ethanal
-heptanol
-2-hexene
-hydrobromic acid
-hydrogen gas
-2-pentyne
-propanol
-sodium hydroxide
-water

And i have to label each reaction as an: addition, substitution, condensation, hydrolysis, oxidation or reduction reactions.

I'm pretty stuck with those three molecules. Can anyone help me please? Thnx!

To synthesize hexanol, bromo-2-pentene, and ethoxypropane using the given starting materials, we can determine the appropriate reactions for each molecule.

1. Hexanol:
Hexanol is a 6-carbon alcohol, so we will need to start with a precursor that contains 6 carbons. One possible approach is the hydrolysis of a 6-carbon alkyl halide. From the given starting materials, we can use 1-bromohexane (not listed but can be derived from hexane and bromine gas) and treat it with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) in water. This reaction is a substitution reaction.

Reaction: 1-Bromohexane + NaOH -> Hexanol + NaBr
Label: Substitution

2. Bromo-2-pentene:
Bromo-2-pentene is a 5-carbon alkene with a bromine substituent in the 2 position. We will need to start with a precursor that contains 5 carbons and a double bond. One possible approach is the addition of bromine across a double bond. From the given starting materials, we can use 2-pentyne and treat it with bromine (Br2) in an organic solvent. This reaction is an addition reaction.

Reaction: 2-Pentyne + Br2 -> Bromo-2-pentene
Label: Addition

3. Ethoxypropane:
Ethoxypropane is an ether compound containing an ethoxy group (-OCH2CH3) attached to a propane backbone. We will need to start with a precursor that contains an ethoxy group. One approach is the condensation reaction between an alcohol and an alkyl halide. From the given starting materials, we can use propanol and 2-bromopropane, and treat them with sodium hydroxide (NaOH). This reaction is a condensation reaction.

Reaction: Propanol + 2-Bromopropane + NaOH -> Ethoxypropane + NaBr + H2O
Label: Condensation

Please note that there may be alternative methods to synthesize these molecules using different starting materials. The given reactions are just one possible route to obtain the desired products.
