I don't know if you understand this equation, but could you help me.
I will assume that you have
(√5 + i)/(√5 - i)
those brackets are absolutely essential.
I will also assume that you want this rationalized.
(√5 + i)/(√5 - i)
= (√5 + i)/(√5 - i) * (√5+i)/(√5 + 1) , I am merely multiplying by 1, thus not changing the ≤b≥value ≤/b≥ of my expression
= (5 + 2√5 i + i^2)/(5 - 1)
= (4 + 2√5 i)/4
= (2 + √5)/2 or 1 + (1/2)√5 i
