How does the opposite of n differ from the absolute value n?
The opposite of n would be the value of n with an opposite sign. If n was -3, then the opposite of n would be 3. If n was 3, then the opposite of n would be -3. Absolute value n would have a positive sign no matter what. If n was -3, absolute value n would be n. If n was 3, absolute value n would still be 3.
