d. Colonists marched on Savannah in protest.

What do you think is the answer?

c @brady

I agree with your choice of C.

There were angry crowds/mobs, so there were probably violent acts and protests. A is So yes, I agree with C. There were also many Sons of Liberty groups forming after the Stamp Act appeared, so that cuts out A as the answer. For C, nothing was said about people dumping crates of stamps in the water, so I have to agree with your answer of C.

I hope this helps! :)

thanks

You're welcome. :)

To determine which of the given options is not a response to the Stamp Act, we need to understand what the Stamp Act was and then identify the actions taken by the colonists in response to it.

The Stamp Act was a tax imposed by the British Parliament on the American colonies in 1765. It required the use of stamped paper or stamped documents for various legal, commercial, and personal transactions. This act sparked widespread protest and resistance among the colonists, who believed it violated their rights as British subjects.

a. Sons of Liberty groups were formed: This was indeed a response to the Stamp Act. The Sons of Liberty were secret organizations that formed throughout the colonies to protest against British policies, including the Stamp Act.

b. Violent demonstrations took place: Also, violent demonstrations were one of the forms of protest against the Stamp Act. The colonists often took to the streets to express their frustration, sometimes resorting to riots, destruction of property, and attacks on British officials.

c. Crates of stamps were dumped into the water: This action, known as the Boston Tea Party, occurred in response to the Tea Act, not the Stamp Act. It involved colonists dumping crates of British tea into the Boston Harbor as a protest against the tax on tea.

d. Colonists marched on Savannah in protest: Unfortunately, there is a lack of historical evidence or records indicating that colonists marched specifically on Savannah in protest against the Stamp Act. Therefore, the correct answer is d. Colonists marched on Savannah in protest.

To arrive at this answer, it's essential to have a basic understanding of historical events and the actions carried out in response to specific events. Researching primary or secondary sources, such as historical documents or scholarly articles, can provide more comprehensive information about the different actions taken by the colonists during this period.
