what is 9/10 times 25/6.i got 225/60 but its not on my answer sheet.i need to simplify. It's not on my answer sheet. please help. its a puzzle.

225/60

Divide the numerator by the denominator to simplify it.

Well, you first have to find the greatest common factor of both of them.

225:1,3,5,9,15,25,45,75,225

60: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, 30, 60

So, 15 looks like it is the number you divide both 225 and 60 by.

225 / 15 = 15

60 / 15 = 4

15/4 = 3 3/4 = 3.75

So, 3 3/4 is the fraction of 225/60 in simplest form.

I hope this helps! :)

P.S. Ms. Sue is also correct!

There is no need to find common denominators when either multiplying or dividing fractions

You only need to do that when adding or subtracting them

I know that Reiny. I didn't find the common denominator, I was just finding a number that both can be divided by to simplify the problem further from 225/60.

I was just trying to explain how you simplify fractions by finding a number that can go into both(This can be called Greatest Common factor, soooo....). Then, you just divide those numbers by that number that goes into both. That's what I always do, and I always get it correct.

Sorry if I confused anyone..... ._.

To multiply fractions, you simply multiply the numerators (the numbers on top) together, and then multiply the denominators (the numbers on the bottom) together. The resulting fraction is the product of the two fractions.

So, in the given problem, you would multiply 9/10 by 25/6.

(9/10) * (25/6) = (9 * 25) / (10 * 6) = 225 / 60

Now, to simplify the fraction, you need to find the greatest common divisor (GCD) of the numerator and denominator (the biggest number that divides evenly into both of them). In this case, the GCD of 225 and 60 is 15.

Dividing both the numerator and denominator by 15 gives you:

225 / 60 = (225 ÷ 15) / (60 ÷ 15) = 15 / 4

So, the simplified fraction is 15/4.
