At a temperature of 35 °C, fluorine gas effuses through a pinhole at a rate of
8.7 L s−1. What is the speed of the fluorine as it effuses through the pinhole?

i no u use the eq. 3rt/M ^.5 but i get 20 for the answer but it is really 450.

  1. T = 308 K M = 38 g/mol = 0.038 kg/mol
    V = sqrt (3 R T/M) = [(3*8.317 J/mol K)*305/0.038 kg/mol)]^1/2 = 448 m/s
