Decide whether each equation has one solution, no solution, or infinitely many solutions.

2(x-3)=2x
A. One Solution
B. No solutions
C. Infinitely many solutions
Is the answer A?

Can you show me how you came up with that answer? I like to see a person's though process. It helps me to assist you better.

Well I did 2*x and 2*3=6

2x-6=2x
2*4-6=2
2*4=8
So wouldn't that be one solution.
If that's not how to solve can you help me figure out how to do it?

Okay you first step is first when you multiply it you will get

2x-6=2x

After this you are trying to get x by itself. What would you do?

Um I don't know how to do that if you could please help me to figure it out.

2x-6=2x

2-2=0
6-2=4
x=4
Would that be one solution.

2x-6=2x

Subtract 2x from both sides in order to get your x variables on 1 side

2x-6=2x
-2x -2x

What you do to one side you must also do to the other. This leaves you with

-6=0x

Because it says 0x there is no solution
