can someone give me a site that tells me the order of the courts in a state?

I don't want to say the state but if needed I will (not sure if each state is different)

My teacher isn't clear and thinks that the whole class took law..

divisions
civil
apella division
high court of appeals?
supreme court

I think I'm missing something and the problem is the order.

Thank you.

It depends upon the state. See this website for a state by state list

Thank you drwls =)

To find the order of the courts in a specific state, you can try the following steps:

1. Start by searching for the official website of the state's judicial branch. Most state governments have an official website that provides information about the judicial system.

2. Once you find the website, look for a section or tab related to the courts or the judicial system. This section usually contains detailed information about the different courts in the state.

3. Within the courts section, there may be a specific page or document that outlines the hierarchy or order of the courts. Look for terms like "court structure," "court hierarchy," or "order of courts."

4. If you cannot find a clear document detailing the order of the courts, you can look for individual pages or sections dedicated to each court. These pages often provide information about the specific court's jurisdiction, responsibilities, and its position in the overall court structure.

5. Pay attention to terms like trial courts, appellate courts, and supreme courts. Trial courts are usually the first level where cases are initially heard, appellate courts hear appeals from lower courts, and the supreme court is typically the highest court in the state's judicial system.

If you encounter any issues or difficulties finding the information, it might be helpful to specify the name of the state you are interested in. Each state has its own court system, so the order of the courts can vary from state to state.
