    Your arteries and veins are analogous to the water supply and wastewater piping system in your city :)

    "n. a comparison between two things, typically on the basis of their structure and for the purpose of explanation or clarification.

    - a correspondence or partial similarity.
    - a thing that is comparable to something else in significant respects.
    - Logic
    a process of arguing from similarity in known respects to similarity in other respects."

    This above is a Google definition.

    Some examples are:

    - 1. "Kitchen is to cooking as bedroom is to sleeping."
    - 2. "You are as annoying as nails on a chalkboard. You must be pretty annoying for someone to say that."
    - 3. "My writing is to me, as flying is to a bird."
    - 4. "She was quiet as a mouse."
    - 5. "A gang of boys is like a pack of wolves."
    - 6. "White symbolizes purity and goodness, like black symbolizes impurity and evil."
    - 7. "He was as tall as a six-foot, three-inch tree."
    - 8. "Her hair glistened in the rain like a nose hair after a sneeze."
    - 9. "It was an American tradition, like fathers chasing kids around with power tools."
    - 10. "He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck, either, but a real duck that was actually lame, maybe from stepping on a land mine or something."

    The examples above are analogies that are easy to understand from different websites.
