Why did the tribes quarrel when the khana-e-Kaaba was rebuilt ? How was the dispute solved?

The tribe was about to fight when it comes to the fixing of Hajrae Aswad, because every tribe wanted to do it so it was hard to decide how, it was Hazrat Muhammad sallal la ho alaihay wasallam who suggested them to place Hajre Aswad on a sheet and each tribe's represenative holds its corner then later fixed it himself.

This suggestion stopped dispute and bloodshed amongst tribes.

The tribes quarreled when the Kaaba was rebuilt due to a disagreement over who would have the privilege of placing the Black Stone, a sacred relic, back into its original position. Each tribe wanted the honor and felt their claim was more legitimate than others. The situation became tense, and conflict seemed imminent.

To resolve the dispute, a wise decision was made to appoint the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the arbiter. He proposed a solution that satisfied all parties and prevented bloodshed. He had a cloth spread on the ground and placed the Black Stone in the center. He then asked a representative of each tribe to lift the cloth together, holding it from different sides. In this way, the Black Stone was successfully returned to its place, satisfying everyone.

This solution cleverly ensured that the honor of placing the Black Stone was shared among all tribes equally, thereby avoiding any particular tribe claiming superiority over others. Muhammad's impartial decision and mediation helped maintain peace and unity among the tribes in that critical moment.
