a 12 V battery is made of 36 cells each rates at 2V and 1.5 A for a given duty cycle. what is the line current and power that may be drawn from the battery?

We can build 3 12V batteries: 36/12 = 3.
We can connect them in parallel to make
a 12V-4.5A battery: I = 3 * 1.5 = 4.5A.
P = V*I = 12 * 4.5 = 54 Watts.
