  1. Before someone else answers in Spanish much better than I can, I would like to suggest that you pay more attention to the rules of capitalization in English (and Spanish), lest you be penalized in future job and college applications. The following words in your question should have been capitalized: How, My, Amethyst, I, Ghana, America, Fontana, Corona, San Francisco (two words), and Spanish.

  2. Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. Capitalization is also important in Spanish. In addition, if you are studying Spanish, you should DO this first before we HELP you!

Me llamo "Amatista." Nací en Ghana y vine a América cuando tenía dos años. Soy corta con piel morena y cabello moreno. Vivía en Fontana pero ahora vivo en Corona. Espero ser enfermera en pediatría y espero vivir in San Francisco en el porvenir. Si Usted asiste al colegio, le aconsejo hacer lo mejor y nunca darse por vencido.

Actually the last sentence would be best with the Subjunctive, but unless you were at least in Level III you would not hav studied that, so I avoided it with a simpler construction, which is also correct.

  3. P.S. Oops! Toward the end the "hav" should be "have!" Sorry, my computer is so bad at skipping spaces and letters!

  5. Just a few things for Susie.
    1. accents = América / años
    2. spelling of "llo " = Yo (tthree times)
    3. accent = algún día, pediatría
    4. Since you don't know to whom she is speaking "estás" for "tú" is too familiar = está
    5. Y ou can also say "la escuela segundaria"
    6. Not "te" but formal = le
    7. aconsejaría = I WOULD versus aconsejo = I DO, plus trates should be formal = trate and spelling "aser" is "hacer" plus "te des" becomes "se dé."

  6. Hi, this is how I'd translate it:

Mi nombre es Amatista. Nací en Ghana y vine a América cuando tenía dos años. Soy de estatura baja con piel oscura y cabello oscuro. Vivía en Fontana, pero ahora vivo en Corona. Espero convertirme en enfermera pediátrica y deseo vivir en San Francisco en el futuro. Si usted asiste a la escuela secundaria, le aconsejaría dar lo mejor de usted y nunca darse por vencido!
