How do i solve a problem like this?

I took a study guide and i messed up on some problems so can i get some help on a few that i missed so i can know how to complete them??

A problem like this???

whoops here it is

from a barrel of colored marbles,you randomly select 6 blue,4 yellow,2 red,3 green,and 5 purple marbles.Find the experimental probability of randomly selecting a marble that is not yellow. A.2/9 B.4/5 C.6/9 D.10/19

What do you think?

the probability of selecting a yellow is 4/20 because there were four yellow out of 20 draws. However, to get the probability of NOT selecting a yellow, it is all the other draws that total 16 out of 20. so 16/20 which reduces to 4/5 which is .8 probability of selecting a marble that is not yellow. hope this helps.

Of course! I'd be happy to help you with the problems you missed on your study guide. To solve a problem, follow these steps:

1. Read the problem carefully: Make sure you understand what the problem is asking for. Identify the given information and what you need to find.

2. Analyze the problem: Break down the problem into smaller parts or logical steps. Think about any relevant formulas, concepts, or strategies that could be applied.

3. Plan your approach: Decide on the most appropriate method or approach to solve the problem. Consider what steps you need to take and in what order.

4. Solve the problem: Use the information and steps you identified in the previous steps to work through the problem. Perform any necessary calculations or logical reasoning.

5. Check your answer: Once you have a solution, double-check your work and make sure your answer makes sense in the context of the problem. If possible, verify your answer using an alternative method.
