A frame around a photo is 5 cm wide. The photograph is 20 cm long and 10 cm wide. What percentage of the entire area is the frame.

  1. total length = 20 + 10 = 30
    total width = 10 + 10 = 20
    so
    total area = 600
    but area of photo itself = 20*10 = 200
    so frame area = 400
    400/600 * 100 = 67 % is frame
