I'm doing my work but i don't get these three questions at all. Could you explain them as well?

★Which part of this sentence is not correct?
Esta muchacha tan bonito es alta.

A. Esta
B. bonito
✔C. muchacha

★Choose the correct verb for tastes in the following sentence:

She tastes the lemonade.

A. compra
B. prueba
✔C. viene

★Which part of this sentence is not correct?
Yo soy la señor Quintana; yo soy Margarita Quintana.

A. yo
B. soy
✔C. señor

I put a check by what i think they are...

Bonito should be bonita and señor should be señora.

I think i get it. In English you would just call someone American, but in Spanish you have to identify if they are a man or women so you would say Americano and Americana.

Thank you so much!!

I've sent this to our Spanish expert, Sra.

Because the questions are in English, they should be very clear to you.

1. Always check number (singular/plural) and gender (masculine/feminine) of all adjectives. "Esta muchacha" is feminine and singular BUT the adjective "bonito" is singular and masculine. Make it feminine. I'll flag this so I can come back later to see if you have done it correctly and/or if you have questions.

2. Get a good dictionary, Spanish to English/English to Spanish to find the correct verb for "to taste." A comes from comprar = to buy/purchase, B. comes from probar = to test/proove/try out AND to taste, C comes from venir - to come/arrive.

3. Again, check the number and gender of everything, including the noun here. "la" is feminine and singular like Margarita BUT señor is masculine and singular! Make it feminine and singular as well.

Sra

Yes! You have the idea. We don't worry about gender in English, but you do in other languages. Good job!

Sra

Sure! Let me explain each question and provide the correct answers.

Question 1:
★Which part of this sentence is not correct?
Esta muchacha tan bonito es alta.

The sentence is in Spanish, and you are asked to identify the incorrect part. Let's break it down:

Esta: This is a feminine demonstrative adjective, meaning "this" or "that" (referring to a feminine noun).
muchacha: This is a feminine noun, meaning "girl".
tan bonito: This means "so beautiful", with "tan" meaning "so" and "bonito" meaning "beautiful".
es: This is the verb "ser", which means "to be" in Spanish.
alta: This is an adjective meaning "tall" (referring to a feminine noun).

To identify the incorrect part, we need to identify any discrepancies. The correct answer is:

✔C. muchacha: The word "muchacha" is incorrect because it should agree in number with the adjective "tan bonito". Since "tan bonito" is referring to a singular feminine noun, it should be "Esta muchacha tan bonita es alta."

Question 2:
★Choose the correct verb for tastes in the following sentence:
She tastes the lemonade.

You are asked to choose the correct verb that fits the sentence. Let's analyze the sentence:

She: This is the subject of the sentence, referring to a female person.
tastes: This is the verb that needs to be identified.
the lemonade: This is the object of the sentence, referring to the specific thing being tasted.

Now, let's identify the correct verb:

A. compra: This means "to buy," which does not fit the context of tasting.
B. prueba: This means "to taste," which is the correct verb for this sentence.
✔C. viene: This means "to come," which does not fit the context of tasting.

Therefore, the correct answer is:

✔B. prueba: The correct verb for the sentence "She tastes the lemonade" is "prueba" in Spanish.

Question 3:
★Which part of this sentence is not correct?
Yo soy la señor Quintana; yo soy Margarita Quintana.

Again, this is a sentence in Spanish, and you have to find the incorrect part. Let's break it down:

Yo: This means "I" in Spanish.
soy: This means "am" in Spanish.
la señor Quintana: This means "Mrs. Quintana" in Spanish (referring to a female).
yo soy Margarita Quintana: This means "I am Margarita Quintana."

To identify the incorrect part, we need to find any discrepancies. The correct answer is:

✔C. señor: The word "señor" is incorrect because it should be "señora" to match the gender agreement with "Quintana." The correct sentence should be "Yo soy la señora Quintana; yo soy Margarita Quintana."

I hope this explanation helps you understand the questions better and the correct answers! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
