A class obtained the following scores on a test.

Test Score TestScore Frequency
90 1
80 6
70 10
60 3
50 2
40 3
What I did was
90+6(80)+7(10)+3(60)+2(50)+3(40)=1040 than divided by 25 which should give me the means it give me a fraction, I got the median right 70,mode right 70, and the range right 50. But I can not get the means right.

90+6(80)+10(70)+3(60)+2(50)+3(40)=1670

I'll leave the rest to you.

To calculate the mean (or average) of a set of numbers, you need to sum up all the numbers in the set and then divide the sum by the total number of values.

In this case, you have the following set of scores and frequencies:

Test Score Frequency
90 1
80 6
70 10
60 3
50 2
40 3

To find the mean, you need to multiply each test score by its corresponding frequency and sum up these products. In your calculation, it seems you have done this step correctly.

90 + 6(80) + 10(70) + 3(60) + 2(50) + 3(40) = 1040

However, you made an error in the next step. Instead of dividing by 25 (the number you used), you should divide by the sum of the frequencies, which is 25 in this case. So the corrected calculation should be:

Mean = 1040 ÷ 25 = 41.6

Therefore, the mean test score is 41.6.
