A jar contains 5 green erasers, 2 striped erasers, 4 pink erasers, and 3 white erasers. You select an eraser at random. What is P(not pink)?

    prob(not pink) = 1 - 1/7 = 6/7

  6. Answer is simple. What chance do you have to draw a pink one? 14 Total erasers, 4 are definitely pink. So, you have a 4/14, or 2/7 chance to draw a pink one. You have a 10/14 or 5/7 chance to draw a NOT Pink eraser.

  8. Okay, If you add 5 + 2 + 4 + 3 you get 14. If you subtract the pink 4 from 14 you get 10.
    You turn that into a fraction, 10/14. Which can be simplfied to 5/7!
