It looks as if what you need to do is learn how to conduct thorough and effective searches for yourself. That's what research is, and I'm sure that's what your teacher expects you to do – conduct research. You are searching for information that is so specific that you have to be prepared for the possibility that none of it may be online. Or some may be, and some may not. In addition to searching on the Internet, you also need to make best friends with the reference librarian(s) in your local or college library.

At this webpage, you can go immediately to the search sites (first three columns across the top) -- or even better you can scroll down until you see the section called HOW TO SEARCH THE INTERNET. Those are the links to start with. You'll not only learn how to come up with good search terms, but also how to evaluate the webpages you get as results. Some will be good and others will be garbage. You need to know how to tell the difference.

My favorite way to search is to go to Google's advanced search page http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en and put my search words or phrases into the first or second search box (either "all the words" or "exact phrase"). However, there many other strategies for searching you can use, and the HOW TO SEARCH THE INTERNET section will help you best.

Learning to use Google or other search engines can save you time and help you learn to find information efficiently. Here are some websites that can teach you how:

... and one to help you judge whether a particular website's information is worth your time:

Happy searching.

To find the names and titles of state officials in Minnesota, including the treasurer, head of education, health/welfare, natural resources/environment, and others, you can follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website of the state government of Minnesota. You can find it by searching for "Minnesota state government" on a search engine.

2. Once you are on the state government's website, look for a section titled "State Officials," "Government Officials," or something similar. This section is usually found on the homepage or in the "About" or "Government" sections.

3. In the State Officials section, you will likely find a list of executive branch officials, including their names and titles. Look for positions such as State Treasurer, Commissioner of Education, Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Commissioner of Natural Resources, and other relevant positions.

4. Click on each official's name or position to get more information about them, including their term of office, appointment or election details, and other relevant information.

If Minnesota's official state website does not have the information you are looking for, you can try an alternative approach:

1. Search for Minnesota's official Secretary of State website. The Secretary of State is responsible for overseeing elections and maintaining official state records.

2. On the Secretary of State's website, look for a section titled "Elected Officials" or "State Government Directory." This section usually includes a comprehensive list of state officials along with their contact details, term of office, and other relevant information.

3. Navigate through the directory to find the specific officials' positions you are interested in, such as treasurer, head of education, health/welfare, natural resources/environment, and others.

By following these steps and exploring Minnesota's official state government website or the Secretary of State's website, you should be able to find the names, titles, and relevant details of state officials in Minnesota.
