what is an easy way to remember the conjugations for er words

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. Speaking of "regular" verbs they will follow the pattern of "parler." Any good textbook will have verbs in the back, in the Appendix. First of all LOOK at the endings: -e, -es, -e, -ons, -ez, -ent. Drop the infinitive ending "-er" and add those endings.

je parle
tu parles
il/elle/on parle

nous parlons
vous parlez
ils/elles parlent

Study them carefully first. Fix the endings in your memory. Now, depending upon what kind of learner you are, that would take care of visual learner. Note that the ending for "je" is the same as for "il/elle/on." Always look for what is similar and what is different!

Say them outloud; even put them on a tape so you can practice "passive listening." That is simply listening, without really concentrating. That is as close to "osmosis" as you can get! That takes care of an aural learner.

Now, write them out. Do that at least 3 times. Cover what you have written and see if you write them "from memory." Uncover and be VERY sure it looks like the original. That takes care of a kinesthetic learner. Later you will find irregular verbs so let us know when you do.

Is there an easy way? Not really = repetition, memorization!

Whatever is difficult for you to remember, color-code that with the bilious yellow, green, orange, etc. to "set" it in your mind's eye!

Bonne chance! Let us know how you do!
