I only have a couple questions left but I want to be sure that my answers are correct so can someone please help me by checking my answers and if they are wrong can someone please let me know? Thank you!

Question Number 1:
A freshwater marsh is a type of ecosystem. Grasses, fish, wading birds, frogs, and alligators live together in freshwater marshes. Pieces of decaying material sink to the bottom of the marsh. In which of these places can carbon be found in the marsh?

My answer to this question is D, In the atmosphere, water, living things, and decaying materials.

Question Number 2:
There is a connection between photosynthesis and cellular respiration. The products from one provide raw materials for the other. What products of photosynthesis are starting materials for cellular respiration?

My answer to this question is D, chlorophyll and light energy.

Question number 3:
Green plants produce their own food during photosynthesis. What substance is also a product of photosynthesis?

My answer to this question is B, Chlorophyll.

Ok so #1 is correct but.... 2 and 3 are incorrect in my opinon.

Photosynthesis produces glucose and oxygen which are the starting materials for cellular respiration and cellular respiration produces carbon dioxide and water, the starting materials used in photosynthesis.
for #3 since sugar/glucose is the main thing being produced that is the 1st product. but...during photosynthesis the plant releases oxygen the other product of photosynthesis.

Question Number 1: A freshwater marsh is a type of ecosystem where various organisms coexist. Pieces of decaying material sink to the bottom of the marsh. In which of these places can carbon be found in the marsh?

Your answer, D) In the atmosphere, water, living things, and decaying materials, is incorrect.

To understand where carbon can be found in a freshwater marsh, we need to know that carbon is an essential element found in living organisms and is cycled through different reservoirs in the environment.

In a freshwater marsh, carbon can be found primarily in living organisms, such as grasses, fish, wading birds, frogs, and alligators. These organisms contain organic compounds that contain carbon. Carbon is also present in decaying materials, as you mentioned. When organisms die or their waste decomposes, the carbon is released back into the environment as carbon dioxide (CO2), a gas that can be found in the atmosphere.

So, the correct answer is C) Living things and decaying materials.

Question Number 2: There is a connection between photosynthesis and cellular respiration. The products from one provide raw materials for the other. What products of photosynthesis are starting materials for cellular respiration?

Your answer, D) Chlorophyll and light energy, is incorrect.

To understand the connection between photosynthesis and cellular respiration, we need to know what each process involves and the products they produce.

Photosynthesis is a process that occurs in plants, algae, and some bacteria. It uses sunlight, carbon dioxide (CO2), and water (H2O) to produce glucose (a simple sugar) and oxygen (O2). The primary product of photosynthesis that becomes the starting material for cellular respiration is glucose.

Cellular respiration, on the other hand, is a process that occurs in all living organisms, including plants and animals. It breaks down glucose and uses oxygen to release energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), along with carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) as byproducts. The glucose produced during photosynthesis serves as the starting material for cellular respiration.

Therefore, the correct answer is A) Glucose.

Question number 3: Green plants produce their own food during photosynthesis. What substance is also a product of photosynthesis?

Your answer, B) Chlorophyll, is incorrect.

Photosynthesis is a vital process in green plants that allows them to produce their own food. During photosynthesis, green plants use sunlight, carbon dioxide (CO2), and water (H2O) to produce glucose (a simple sugar) and oxygen (O2). Chlorophyll is a pigment found in plants that helps capture sunlight and initiates the photosynthetic process but is not a product of photosynthesis itself.

The correct answer is C) Oxygen. Oxygen is released into the atmosphere as a byproduct of photosynthesis and is essential for sustaining most life forms on Earth.
