How would playing a game of soccer, baseball, or basketball be different if inertia didn't exist?

sort answer to this

This would be a fun game because inertia, according to the first Law of Newton, means that when you throw a ball it will continue moving unless a force acts over it. Without inertia, the ball instead of continue moving, would stop as soon as it leaves your hand or foot. You had to stay posted to the ball until it reaches the desired destiny for it continues moving.

hope this helps

So, this may be a bit confusing but you really would not be able to play any of these sports. Not only when the ball is moving it wont stop going what about you when you keep moving will you not go. With out inertia you may not stop going as a person or baseball player, basketball player or soccer play or just you. But we are obviously not an object. Here is why: Soccer: In soccer when you kick the ball it may never stop and it may go in different directions. There would have to have new rules for each of these games because the ball would not stop going and if the ball went the opposite way you would score a goal for the other team. Then this may be confusing and you will end up quitting the team probably. Baseball: In baseball you may swing the bat the wrong way an the ball will hit you in the face which can happen with inertia but it would probably be more likely. When the player throws the ball the ball might swerve in different directions and make it hard to hit with the bat. Say the player hits it with bat it will go in many directions because inertia is not there to support it and make it go straight. People will start to get hurt with balls going in a bunch of different directions Basketball: First off the basketball would just keep going and never stop moving. The ball would just keep rolling. You would also not be able to make a basket. The ball would move in many direction and not be able to make. It would be pretty impossible to make it. It would be hard to play basketball without inertia. I would be so sad if any of these would be hard to play it would be so difficult without inertia. All in all, It would be hard to play these sports because almost anything moving in the game mostly the balls would resist the change in there direction.

Everyone, don't listen to eyebrows on fleek, he misunderstood the question and is explaining if the games didn't have gravity which they still do, for example, instead of a soccer ball flying off into space, it just wouldn't stop rolling. This should help you understand👍

Mindy,I have never had this question before.

A good site that would help you would be Open Study. There you can search this question, and see past answers for it.

I hope this helps! :)

Thanks~

I already knew that...
-_-

I did not answer before because those games would be meaningless without inertia.

Also, try looking the question up on Google.

I found Open Study on the first page as the first site.

Hope this again, helps! :)

a property of matter by which it continues in its existing state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line, unless that state is changed by an external force.

Would any of those balls go anywhere on any predictable path? Would their motion be random? Could you guess where a baseball might be when you swung at it?

thanks so much guys ! :)
