not C., Southeast Asia has jungles but not South West

It is not all desert. Mesopotamia and the Levant have reasonable climates and the Niles valley is not desert.

That leaves me pretty much with A. The Nile water flows in from central Africa and I can not think of rainy countries is the area of interest.

The correct answer is C. climates in which rainfall is either abundant or all but entirely absent.

To arrive at this answer, you can examine the characteristics of Northern Africa and Southwest Asia. This region is known for having a diverse range of climates, but the dominant climate types fall within the category of arid and semi-arid climates. This means that the levels of rainfall in these areas are generally low, either with a scarcity of rainfall or with rainfall that is experienced in a few concentrated events during the year.

You can also consider the presence of major deserts in the region, such as the Sahara Desert in Northern Africa and the Arabian Desert in Southwest Asia. These deserts are indicative of the arid and semi-arid conditions prevalent in the region.

Taking into account both the low levels of rainfall and the presence of desert climates, it becomes evident that option C, climates in which rainfall is either abundant or all but entirely absent, is the most accurate description for the dominant climate patterns in Northern Africa and Southwest Asia.
