Can you please help with the following:

x^2+2x-35=0

I can't remember how to get the different possibilities.

Appreciate help, thanks

I solved the equation in quadratic since the equation has perfect squares

x^2+2x-35+0
ax^2 +bx -c=0
split the bx into 7 and -5
then you have ,x^2 +7x -5x -35=0
then factorize the equation to get
x(x+7)-5(x+7)=0
(x-5)(x+7)=0
then equate each identity to zero solve for x
x-5=0
x=5
x+7=0
x=-7
therefore x=5 or x=-7
