A company claims that for selling x thousand beanie babies the monthly revenue (in dollars) is given by: R(x)= 290x. The monthly cost function is C(x)=250x + 5,000. Find the break-even point. Put the answer in context of the problem.

  1. The break even point is where the revenue equals the cost
    290 x = 250 x + 5000
    40 x = 5000
    x = 125 so 125,000 beanie babies
