Good evening. I have a math problem that I just need a bit of help on please.

A trap for insects is in the shape of a triangular prism. The area of the base is 3.5in and the height of the prism is 5 in. What is the volume of this trap?
Do I just need to do 5 x 3.5in?
Thank you

Thank you Scott. I will post another math problem in just a second.

Good evening! To find the volume of a triangular prism, you need to multiply the area of the base by the height. In this case, you have the area of the base as 3.5 square inches and the height as 5 inches. So, the formula to calculate the volume of the prism will be:

Volume = Area of base x Height

= 3.5 in² x 5 in

= 17.5 in³

Therefore, the volume of the trap is 17.5 cubic inches.
