36^(2x+4) = (square root of 1296)^x

Solve for x

I'm really stuck on this one too, thank you for your help

LOL !!! sqrt 1296 = 36

2x+4 = x

1)x = 6

2)x = -6
3)x= 0.0000 - 6.0000 i
4)x= 0.0000 + 6.0000 i

I don't understand

36^(2x+4) = (square root of 1296)^x

36^(2x+4) = 36)^x
2x+4=x
x=-4

check: 36^(-8+4)=36^-4

checks ok. Am I missing something here?

If so then we both are.

The answer in the back of the book is -4, thank you!

That is a relief :) Thank you.
