also here: It allowed settlers to be separated from them and it made them feel safe from the Indians. They feared the Indians and did not want them roaming around. It was very beneficial to them because it meant that the Indians would be away from them and they wouldn't be eating any of the food that wasn't in their area meaning more food for the settlers. It was harmful to the Indians because they were caged up like animals in a zoo. They only had a limited amount of food in their area and even though they didn't have to fight the settlers, they were seclude from anyone one else but their own people. They also didn't have any variety of food and limited resources.
