A. Candles that were made using the Bixin, orellina, resin, and volatile oils prevented the scientists from being bitten by any mosquitoes during their experiment.
B. The young scientists applied DEET bug sprays to one group of 15people and another group of 15 people did not receive any bug spray. The group who received bug spray had fewer than 5 mosquito bites during a 2 hour period. The (control) group with no bug spray had 37+ mosquito bites after a 2 hour period.
