Identify an equation that models the situation and find its solution.
Kane planned to build a 53centimetertall model of a building. He later decided to increase the model's height to 159 centimeters. What was the increase of the model’s height in centimeters?
A.x – 53 = 159
x = 212
B.53 + x = 159
x = 106
C.53 + x = 159
x = 102
D.x – 53 = 159
x = 53

what is the increase going from 9 to 12?
use the same logic here.
I am having trouble Steve can you explain it a little bit more

Draw a sketch of it !

9+x = 12
x = 129
same thing, different numbers.
I think that it will be either B or C

*=== 159
*
* how much here ?
*
*
*=== 53
*
*===ground = 0
So the answer is B

yes, 53 + 106 = 159
