2 is correct; 1 is incorrect. The idiom is that people "tell lies" not that they "say lies."
4 and 5 are much better than 3! I wouldn't use the phrasing in 3.
6 and 8 are fine. 7 is OK, but it implies that the girl is the only one who is dancing at the time.
