To find the answer to this question, we need to identify the states that border Mexico and then compare them based on their similarities and differences. There are four states that share a border with Mexico: California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Two similarities between these states include their geographic proximity to Mexico and their influence of Mexican culture. Being border states, they have a significant impact from Mexican traditions, food, and language. Additionally, all four states have diverse landscapes that range from deserts to mountains. Two differences between these states are their population sizes and economic activities. California and Texas are the most populous and economically robust states, whereas Arizona and New Mexico have smaller populations and economies. Moreover, Arizona and New Mexico have a higher concentration of Native American populations compared to California and Texas.
