To the quick check if you go to connexus

well, -6 is negative and |-8| is positive

so, -6 < |-8|

plot -5 and -8 on the number line.
-5 is to the right of -8
so -5 > -8

Baseball Player is correct

@My family hates me

Don't say that they feed you and they let you go to school to learn things they buy you things and they gave you somewhere to live. Don't ever think that they don't love you. They might not show it but they do care about you or you wouldn't be where you are today. I felt that way for a while but that was just because I was jealous and I complained that I didn't have enough, But once I saw how much they did for me I didn't think that anymore. Just because we do chores or things we don't want to do doesn't mean you have to hate them. There just trying to make sure you have a better child hood then they did. Just remember there teaching you things that they probably didn't learn and had to figure out on there own when they were growing up. You are loved and no one hates you, You may think that but God put you in that family for a reason.😊🤗

Baseball Player is correct, also my name doesn't lie

it may seem like they hate you, but trust me

if you were gone they'd die inside, things would go quite and dull, they care about you
i can understand your vision, i used to think the same way
but trust me, they do care even if they dont show it.

To determine which symbol makes a statement true, you need to compare the values on both sides of the symbol.

For the first question, |-8| represents the absolute value of -8, which is 8. The statement is asking if -6 is equal to 8. Since -6 is not equal to 8, the symbol that should be used to make the statement true is the "<" symbol, indicating that -6 is less than 8.

For the second question, -5 is being compared to -8. To determine if -5 is less than, greater than, or equal to -8, we can visually see that -5 is greater than -8 on the number line. Therefore, the symbol that should be used to make the statement true is the ">" symbol, indicating that -5 is greater than -8.
