Is the square of a rational number always greater than the number ?

  • Math -

    NO

    For rational numbers greater of 0 and less of 1 the square of a rational number is lesser of that rational number.

    Exsample:

    0.3² = ( 3 / 10 )² = 3² / 10² = 9 / 100 = 0.09

    0.09 < 0.3
