Yes, evil is triumphant as in the story, first of all the knight of gleaming whiteness confronted the white knight upon thinking that he was the "Black Knight", however the white knight ended up killing the knight of gleaming whiteness who had the concept that he (white knight) was the black knight, so in short the knight of gleaming whiteness thought that he got killed by a black knight
