If the ratio of red hair bands to green hair bands is 5 to 9 with a total of 70 hair bands, how many of them are green?

5/14 = x/70

Cross multiply and solve for x.

i dont understand this

so the answer is 14 ms sue

another way

multiply both sidees of this equation by the least common multiple of 14 and 70
I think 140 is close enough

140(5/14) = 140(x/70)

10 * 5 = 2 * x

5 * 5 = x

25 = x

There are 14 hair bands all together.

now try that

25/70 = ?

5/14 whew !!!

but I think you wanted GREEN

(9/14) (70) = 45
