I tried answering this and pending how I read it I get several answers. Any help out there

1. A box of crackers has a mass of p kilograms. When empty, the box
has a mass of 200 grams. What is the total mass of the crackers in
5 such boxes? Express your answer in kilograms.

the mass of crackers in one box is p-0.2 kg

so, multiply that by 5 and you get 5p-1 kg

So if you got several results, why did you not bother to show how you arrived at each? Maybe one of them was right!

To find the total mass of the crackers in 5 boxes, we need to first find the mass of one box of crackers.

Given:
- The box of crackers has a mass of p kilograms.
- When empty, the box has a mass of 200 grams, which is equivalent to 0.2 kilograms.

To find the mass of one box of crackers, we need to subtract the mass of the empty box from the total mass:
Mass of one box of crackers = Total mass of the box - Mass of the empty box
Mass of one box of crackers = p kilograms - 0.2 kilograms
Mass of one box of crackers = (p - 0.2) kilograms

Now, to find the total mass of the crackers in 5 boxes, we multiply the mass of one box of crackers by 5:
Total mass of the crackers in 5 boxes = Mass of one box of crackers * 5
Total mass of the crackers in 5 boxes = (p - 0.2) kilograms * 5
Total mass of the crackers in 5 boxes = 5p - 1 kilogram

Therefore, the total mass of the crackers in 5 boxes is 5p - 1 kilograms.
