A number is divided by -4, then multiplied by -5. The result is 40. What is the number?

I had problem finding a formula for it. And this one was also like it.

A number is multiplied by -8, then divided by -4. The result is 4. What is the number?

Please help this is really ergent.

(n/-4) * -5 = 40

n/-4 = 45

n = - 180

Try the second one yourself. I'll gladly check your answer.

N*-5 / -4=4

N*-5 = 8

N= -40

Where did you get -5 in this problem?

A number is multiplied by -8, then divided by -4. The result is 4. What is the number?

I meant -8 instead of -5

So the answer would be -64

No -1 would be the answer

Sub -40 back into the original problem. Does it work?

-8n/-4 = 4

8n = -16

n = -2

No

so the answer would be -2. If so i get what I did wrong. For some reason I always make simple mistakes.
