I have read an excerpt to Legendary King Arthur. I'm trying to find the theme. I am debating on either a true hero never dies, or family can not always be trusted. In the story, they say that King Arthur might rise, and they believe that he has set a good bit of history for them. So, he may have died, but the story never dies. Family can not always be trusted, his best friend betrayed him, Sir Lancelot. His cousin, Mordred, killed him, and took over his throne.

Can anyone help??

I came up with both of these, which one do you think works better? I think that Family usually can be trusted, but in this passage that shows that sometimes it cannot. What do you guys think?

trust or lack thereof is certainly a theme

Read through several of these search results. Use Ctrl or Cmd + F to hunt for "theme" once you've opened a webpage you think might help. You may have to search a lot, but eventually you will find ideas you want to use.

I vote for heroes never die. I'm sure you know a lot about the heroes of the past. Bud do you know much about families that can't be trusted?

I'll probably go with heroes never die. Yes, I do know a bit about families that can't be trusted, but it would be a lot better to do heroes never die. Thank you a lot. Also, thank you for your help with the links.

Of course! I'd be happy to help you analyze the theme of the story based on the information you've given. Determining the theme of a story can sometimes be subjective, as different readers may take away different messages. From what you've mentioned, it seems like you have two potential themes in mind: "a true hero never dies" and "family can not always be trusted." Let's explore both themes and see which one aligns more closely with the story.

1. "A true hero never dies": This theme revolves around the idea that even though King Arthur physically dies, his heroism and legacy live on. The story suggests that King Arthur's influence, ideals, and historical impact continue to inspire others, keeping his spirit alive. This theme highlights the enduring impact of a hero's actions and the way they can shape history.

2. "Family cannot always be trusted": This theme focuses on the idea that familial relationships can sometimes be complicated, and even those closest to us may betray or disappoint us. In the story, both Sir Lancelot and Mordred, who are part of King Arthur's family circle, end up betraying him. This theme explores the notion that trust and loyalty cannot always be assumed, even among family members.

To determine which theme is more prevalent in the story, it would be helpful to consider how the events and character relationships are portrayed. Analyze how the story explores the idea of King Arthur's lasting influence and whether that idea takes priority over the theme of family betrayal. Look for textual evidence, character motivations, and the overall tone of the story to guide your analysis.

Remember, themes are often open to interpretation, so there may not be a definitive answer. The important thing is to support your thoughts with evidence from the story.
